Inco 2025 Roundup

2025 was the year privacy really came into the spotlight. And it was a huge year for Inco, too.
We raised a strategic round from some of the most respected names in the industry, launched Inco Lightning on Base Sepolia along with some great testnet apps, cofounded the Confidential Token Association, and partnered with projects bringing confidentiality to everything from ticketing to gaming.
Along the way, we traveled the world spreading the word about onchain privacy and Inco’s superfast, superflexible, supersecure solution.
2026 will bring even more progress. Stay tuned by following us on X and Discord, and subscribe to the Incoming newsletter.
Here's a look back at everything Inco accomplished in 2025.
Inco Raises $5M Strategic Round

In April, we announced that Inco had raised $5M in a strategic round led by a16z Crypto Startup Accelerator (CSX), with participation from new investor Coinbase Ventures and follow-on support from existing investors 1kx Capital, OrangeDAO, South Park Commons, and Script Capital.
"After solving issues like scalability and chain abstraction, confidentiality remains the final challenge for blockchains," said Remi Gai, Founder of Inco. "Just as SSL/TLS transformed the internet by making secure and encrypted communication the standard, Inco introduces a new paradigm of confidentiality for blockchains."
This funding enables us to continue building the privacy solution that will power the next generation of onchain applications. Thank you to everyone who believed in our vision.
Inco Lightning Launches on Base Sepolia

Alongside our funding round, we launched Inco Lightning on Base Sepolia testnet, making it easier than ever for developers to build confidential onchain applications.
With Inco Lightning, there's no need to learn a new language, no new chain to deploy to, and no additional complexity. Just standard Solidity and a single import.
Two demo applications launched alongside Inco Lightning: an onchain Hangman game and Comfy, an interface for encrypting your onchain balance. Both showcase what's possible when you combine the composability of blockchains with real confidentiality.
Cofounding the Confidential Token Association

In April, Inco cofounded the Confidential Token Association alongside OpenZeppelin and Zama.
The Association's goal is to develop a framework for empowering token standards like ERC20 with confidentiality. Using cutting-edge encryption techniques, the confidential token standard allows users to conceal amounts transferred between addresses while preserving the transparency of fund flows onchain.
The association remains open to new members—get in touch if you're interested in contributing.
Report: Privacy and Compliance in Blockchain Systems

We collaborated with Predicate on a comprehensive report for evaluating how privacy protocols balance confidentiality with compliance. As institutions increasingly bring operations onchain, this framework helps them navigate the intersection of privacy and regulatory requirements.
Working With Blocklive To Unlock Confidential Onchain Ticketing

We partnered with Blocklive to bring confidentiality to onchain ticketing. Event attendees can now keep details like ticket prices and seat locations private, while event organizers can avoid the "empty room" problem where publicly visible sales data creates adverse incentives.
"The privacy and security enabled by Inco's confidentiality layer is a crucial component of enterprise adoption in blockchain-based primary ticketing," said Blocklive CEO Paul Warren.
Unlocking Confidential Gaming on Monad With Melee Games

Melee Games launched a series of Inco-powered games on the Monad testnet, starting with the Two-Thirds Guessing Game. The game showcases how Inco enables truly fun onchain experiences—players' choices remain confidential, making the game actually playable in a way that would be impossible on a transparent blockchain.
Events: A Global Year

The Inco team traveled the world in 2025, spreading the word about onchain confidentiality.
We kicked off the year at Zu-Grama in Kerala, India, exploring onchain privacy with the local builder community. XYZ Paris and ETH Slovenia followed, with Inco CEO Remi Gai sharing his views on privacy on Ethereum and more. We co-hosted d/Infra Summit in Denver and gathered builders and investors at a private dinner during DAS NYC.
RWAfi Live in Dubai brought together builders and projects to showcase real-world asset tokenization. At ZuBerlin, Remi hosted a workshop on Inco's technical architecture. Stable Summit III in Cannes featured discussions on bringing confidentiality to stablecoins, and we hosted the Standards & Croissants: Confidential Token Association Breakfast at EthCC.
ETH Vietnam saw Swayam from our DevRel team introduce developers to building confidential apps. NextFin NYC explored institutional blockchain adoption, and we co-hosted Private Payments Night with Monad Foundation to kick off the Private Payments Event Series.
The DC Privacy Summit in Washington brought together regulators, builders, cryptographers, and privacy professionals. We closed out the year at Devconnect in Buenos Aires with appearances at the Privacy Hub, Encryption Day, and the Account Abstraction Hub.
Education

We published a wealth of educational content this year, from a comprehensive of 30+ potential Inco use cases to a breakdown of confidential composability, an exploration of the different levels of privacy, and a guide to creating a confidential token.
Privacy Circles

We launched Inco Privacy Circles, a program to bring the community together to work on collaborative projects. Thank you to all those who have contributed so far, we’ve loved seeing what you’ve created.
Looking Ahead to 2026
2025 proved that privacy is essential for blockchains to achieve their potential as the coordination layer for the world economy.
Thank you to everyone in the Incommunity who supported us this year. The builders who worked with us, the projects that partnered with us, and the community members who spread the word about why confidentiality matters.
But we're just getting started. 2026 will bring much more...
